Reinbows Cares - Empowering Children from Families with Addicition
Reinbows Cares in designed to support youth from families affected by substance abuse.
The program will provide a safe, structured environment where children can build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and experience positive peer connection.
The program utilizes evidence-informed, trauma-responsive curriculum developed by the National Association for Children of Addiction (NACoA), focused on building resilience and life skills.
Our gentle Norwegian Fjord horses bring participants joy and happiness by spending time together. During this time the horses are used to reinforce the topics of the day.
Reinbows’ staff is trained in horsemanship and safety is our top priority in all Reinbows’ programs. Horse activities include grooming, leading, riding with a leader, fun games, and positive horse interactions!
Participants not only get a sense of accomplishment from working with the horses, but also from completing fun projects and learning skills such as gardening, painting, carpentry, and pottery.
*Limited space of 6 participants per program*
This program is supported through the Cottonwood & Jackson County opioid response grant in partnership with Des Moines Valley Health and Human Service.
